Frankly, your question surprises me. Just as the aircraft engineer must know whether his craft has the tendency to raise like a balloon or fall like a rock, each individual needs to know whether his personal tendency is toward good or toward evil. If man's tendency is toward good he would eventually become perfectible which hasn't happened in history. If his nature is evil then he needs a redeemer. Christ came because of our evil nature. If our nature were good then God would have wasted a most precious asset as a sacrifice.
