What process do you go through to work out the right timing to proceed with a vision?

Fortunately, I have some friends who are very gifted with timing and I go to them. One of my advisors said I could do better with timing it I had a disciplined imagination. A good three word guidance is: anticipate, plan, execute. By anticipation you try to think of the ramifications of what you are getting ready to do. Do not be afraid of thinking of the negatives because they will be the things that will trip you up. I am not saying be afraid but be realistic.
