Dear Fred
Do you have any thoughts on how to thrive when reporting to a highly ineffective and self-absorbed boss?
Fred's Response
It is generally very profitable to make your boss’s job easier. A subordinate rarely has enough influence to change his boss. He can change the relationship by contributing to the boss’s success even though you feel he should fail. The Scriptures says that whatever we find to do we should go all out. It is a temptation with a boss you do not like to goof off. Remember your boss probably has a boss who is not unconscious of the situation. This does not give you the right to bad mouth him or to make him look bad.
